One for One...The shoe for you

TOMS shoes, not only are you doing a good deed by buying them, but you will also be looking very stylish this summer.

These simple yet stylish shoes have become very popular over the last couple of years and the styles are now more and more daring. These shoes are also very comfortable and ideal for summer wear.  The idea of the shoe came from one man, American traveler Blake Mycoskie.

He traveled to Argentina in 2006 and discovered that most of the children in this country did not own a pair of shoes and yet were still doing their day to day chores.  Without the shoes the children were beginning to develop infections from cuts and sores as well as soil-transmitted diseases which could easily be prevented by shoes. Also the children were being stopped from attending school as shoes is part of their uniform.

The 'one for one' model which Blake has lived by means that by buying your own pair of TOMS he will in turn give a pair to a child in a Third World Country. The countries which have been shoe dropped so far are Argentina, South Africa, Rwanda,  and Ethiopia. The company also hopes it will encourage other companies to do the same charitable work, which it has.  TOMS has collaborated with Ralph Lauren as well as the organisation Movember, making TOMS for men and women with the symbol of the Moustache stitched on the side.

Blake Mycoskie said: "I named the shoes TOMS after the word tomorrow because if you buy a pair today we'll give away a pair tomorrow, and we can all create a better tomorrow".

Many hot celebrities have been seen wearing the shoes such as Miley Cyrus, Anne Hathaway, Julia Roberts, Keira Knightly and Liv Tyler.  The best thing about these shoes are they are comfortable and suitable for all ages.

Rosie Hutton, 19, is a student at Canterbury Christ Church University, she says: "They are ridiculously comfy and I would recommend them to anyone. They're easy to put on and off. Great for the beach but also for casual wear. It's like wearing slippers in public".

Each year the company organizes a day where everyone will walk bare footed like the children do in order to raise awareness.  April 5th is this years date to join in! It's not often you achieve fashion and a good cause all at once so get buying girls.

Even new styles for us women are now coming about online, like this:
